NYC Under Winter Storm Watch Once Again
With yet more snow on the way, New Yorkers are stocking up on supplies to keep their homes and property clear.
The city is under a winter storm watch from tonight through Friday afternoon.
Yet some shoppers are finding the stores are not as well stocked, after city residents bought supplies for the last major snow storm just a few weeks ago.
At the Fairway in Red Hook, Brooklyn, shoppers were also stocking up on food and other supplies, just in case they could not get around after the upcoming Nike Shoes storm.
“I have my own plow, but I’m actually looking for bags of salt. There is no more, I’ve just got to buy the smaller containers of it,” said a Brooklyn consumer.
“It’s February, it always happens. President’s Day, we’ve always gotten clobbered, if you think back. If it’s not January, it’s February and it’s also happened in Easter time,” said another.
“Fruit, milk, eggs. I think it’s going to be a pretty bad snowstorm. So rather than go out in the snow and traffic and all the mess, I’ll get all the stuff now,” said a third.
Meanwhile, two hardware store owners in Briarwood, Queens told NY1 that they are stocked w Nike Shoes ith bags a Nike Shoes nd containers of rock salt a Nike Shoes nd shovels.
At least one worker said the onslaught of shoppers usually comes as the first flakes begin to fall.
Current predictions say between five to eight inches of snow and sleet mix could fall between Thursday morning and Friday morning. However, only three to five inches of snowfall will collect on the ground.
